Project Details

This is a project created by myself that shows how Centers and Power forwards have and will continue to become the dominant force in the NBA using R. The broader interpretation of the data is showing how the NBA is transitioning from a “little man league”, where the guards dominated using their ability of primeter shot creation and three-point, to a “Big man League”. This new league consists of various tall centers and forwards who have the ability to dominate the paint on offense and defense, like in the past, but have now adapted the ability to skillfully handle the ball in transition and can step out to shoot the three-ball at a high percentage. This is supported by the graphs as centers are leading the charts in defense and offense efficiency in modern day basketball, along with their average 3 point percentage almost doubling over 25 years.

The project includes the following key features:

  • Data preprocessing and research
  • Linear Regression
  • Reporting Research Findings
